Conrad's problem :(

I have had Conrad since Dec of 09. He is an '08 caramel stripe male. He is ALWAYS an reliable eater. The last 3-4 times I have tried feeding him, he refused. I figued he was a male going on strike during breeding season, No Biggy. Until last feeding day, he was hideing alot, I thought maybe he is going into shed. Then I noticed a 'bump' he has. It looks like food that never went down. I tried to see if it would go away. That is why I have left it alone until now. It is most likely what made him stop eating. Here are some pictures. And notice that after the "bump", his body does not back down to his normal size. He is like bloated all the way down.

I am really worried, please help.

Have you tried exercising him, like having him swim in the tub? I haven't had to do this, but I read that getting them to exercise will help "move things along"...
I could be wrong, but that's the first thing I thought of.

It can't possibly be poo that far up. I have no ideas, though.

Is the vet an option?

I think he needs to see a vet. I would be very worried about that. I'm sorry.

I would be worried about that too, it doesn't look like a food-lump at all and it definitely isn't poop. Please let us know how things turn out.

It could have some sort of bacterial infection and the bloated look could be caused by this infection.....but I'm not a vet....but I would recommend taking your snake to one.

Things are still the same. I offered him for a few days ago, he refused. But while he was in there he pooped. It was not a normal poop. It was really runny and was this off-white color and had a horrible smell, worst than a regurge. Should I continue trying to feed him? If he does not eat he will eventually die, but if he does, it can either kill him quicker, or help him.

Can you get him and a fecal sample to a vet?

I wish it did not come to this, but on July 8, Conrad passed away. :crying::cry: I will post a farewell thread in a little while.

Why did you not listen to the advice and went to see the vet? If you are not going now very soon, he might die because you did not do what you had to do. It sounds rude but it's the way it is. You probably are not to blame for him getting sick, but you are for delaying treatment. This should be a clear case for the vet to anyone. Nobody here suggested you could wait.

Did not see the update about him dying... so my posts now probably sounds more rude, but it was the truth.
