Has anyone else's corn survived this?

The Poopsmith
My Jungle Corn, Diego, had a rectal prolapse about a month ago. We got him to the vet, and he was fixed up with sutures and antibiotics. I've been watching him carefully, and it seemed that when he defecates, a little came out but always went back in. This has made me nervous of course.

Well, lo and behold, this morning he has another prolapse. And of course my vet is CLOSED today... I'll take him tomorrow.

My question is: Do any of you have corns or hybrids that were able to overcome multiple prolapses and become a normal healthy snake again? Or should I just start getting it into my head that I may have to euthanize Diego?

Can you call your vet and tell them it's an emergency? My vet always lisens to their messages even when they are closed.

I know of a couple snakes that have survived one prolapse after surgery.

I would try making a paste out of sugar and a little water & apply that to the prolapse to try to shrink it to get it to go back in, then call your vet. If Diego doesn't look like he is suffering, it's worth fighting for him.
