..now how about some pictures of yourself and your family. I'm kinda curious as to what everyone looks like. You can only tell so much from text. =P

So lets stop hiding behind the text for a little bit and share a peek of yourselves.

Here's a couple of mine:

Picture of me. I know you can't see me very well, and generally thats the way I like it. I detect a camera flash and I instantly disappear from the room. ;)

Picture of my husband, Matthew and I, on our wedding day last summer:

And pictures of my "babies":

This was my kitty, she was 16 years old and put to sleep about a month or two ago......we're getting a kitten in May though

My sister's turtles - red eared sliders:
Raphael https://cms.psu.edu/AngelUploads/Files/leh149/Raphael.JPG
And Donatello https://cms.psu.edu/AngelUploads/Files/leh149/Donatello.JPG
Growing up, we had 2 painted turtles named Leonardo and Painter. We really need a Michelangelo though....maybe that can be the kitty's name :)

These are my 2 little "angels", pic taken last year before my daughter's graduation from kindergarden. I don't have any current, decent ones downloaded into the computer yet (several ones of them making faces, but they're not for show). And as for a pic of myself...GOOD LUCK! Nobody has had the nerve to take my picture lately and not delete it.

I was mistaken for Frankie from the Real World this past weekend when I was up in Washington DC for the March For Womens' Lives, I was in my car and someone yelled from the next lane over at a stoplight "Is that Frankie?!?! Hey Frankie I am sorry you have cystic fibrosis!!!" I didn't want to bust their bubble so I didn't say anything but I found it extremely amusing.

http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v298/isis1167/junior_formal.jpg

This is our dog, Cierra (choc. lab x). She's only about 6 months old in this shot, but she's 1 1/2 now.
http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v298/isis1167/Cierra/103-0348_AUT.jpg

My Siberian Husky momma, Denali. I used to have her three puppies too, but all have since passed on. Good old Denali is almost 13 now!

And Rascale the cat: Yes she earned her name! Also the oldest pet I have.
http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v298/isis1167/Cierra/Theres_that_dog.jpg

And last but probably the most important . . . my baby, Angel! She's a 2 year old Morgan filly that takes up most, if not all, of my free time. Less than two months until I back her for the first time!!!

Needless to say, I sucked! 1st pic is of me and my boss' wife (yes we do party together). 2nd pic is my buddy Chad squishing me. 3rd pic is me trying not to fall over. 4th pic is Chad whopping my butt is twister (yes i know the pic looks awfully dirty...but i did have my pants on...i hope my boss doesn't get a hold of the picture and publishes in the magazine).

Why..yes it is!

ok, I think that you need to rethink your teams a little. or at least move to Dallas...

anyway...here is a pretty good joke that I heard on sunday about the cowboys...

There was this little boy that was beaten by his parents, so he talked with a teacher, and took the case to court. The little boy told the judge that he didn't want to be with his mom or dad because they beat him, but he didn't want to go with his aunt either because she beat him worse than the parents. The Judge asked about the grandparents, and the boy replied that the grandparents were worse than the Aunt. So the Judge asked the little boy what he wanted to do about it, and he boy replied: I want to live with the Dallas Cowboys because they can't beat anyone.

Joejr.....DING DING!! My nephew's friend put my oldest son in that pic since he was at work that day. I feel really stupid now, as that pic was sent to us in a beautiful frame for Christmas and we thought it was so nice. Then my nephew said, "don't you guys notice anything wrong with that picture?" None of us did until he pointed it out to us. He just took a picture we had of my son and superimposed it into the family picture!

The first three all have the theme of one of my other passions: mountain biking. The first is one of me with my niece (old pic, she's now 9!!); I was at a Jimmy Buffett concert the night before - this explains the shark fin on the helmet. The next two are from a combination mountain biking/whitewater rafting trip I took in Canyonlands National Park in Utah. While I think the pic of me is fugly to the nth degree, the scenery is eye candy! And no, that's NOT a widow's peak, just helmet head!!! (But I will admit these shots were from the end of my "mullet era".)

The next one was taken just before I left for a blacktie fundraiser; I guess I cleaned up OK on this one - then again, the idiot grin is because, if I recall correctly, that was my 7th glass of wine. :)

Finally, I had intended to use the last shot for a Christmas card this past holiday season, by photoshopping out the retrieving dummy and replacing it with a candy cane of the same size.....but real life got in the way - maybe next year. Anyhoo, microseconds before I tripped the shutter, Bo was in a complete sit at my feet, and lept that high from the sit (and I'm 6'2"!).

regards,
jazz

Well, well. I guess I'll put a couple of pictures on. Been avoiding doing this since this thread started but, I guess.

The first couple are older shots of me but have fond memories. They are both on my horse Jake whom I dearly loved. The first was taken on the road in front of our house and the second is me running the barrel race with him. We won first place that day. He was a fantastic, gentle horse.
The next picture is my family, of course. My son Joshua who was in the Air Force at the time and is now in the Air National Guard. He is 6'4" and is my youngest child. The next is my daughter Tamara who still lives home with us. Hard to convince her it is time to "fly from the nest"...lol. Then there is my eldest, my daughter Trisha. My husband and myself up front with my grandson Michael on my lap. He is Trisha's son.

So, that's me and my family.

And, of course I can't forget my two most beloved fur bearing animals that I have the pleasure of sharing my house with. Jade my 2 year old doberman girl. And Slink my 7 year old siamese boy.

I agree, lots of gorgeous animals on here. And wonderful pictures of the humans too. It really is great to put faces to the people we have talked to so much. GREAT!

Russell, nothing like a soft, squeezable, beautiful baby sleeping on you, hey? I used to love it when my babies slept on me like that. So peaceful!

Meg, gorgeous horse you are riding there. So, you do dressage hey? Love his movement!

Carol, I agree, wonderful tempered dog you have there. And such a sweet face. :)

Admit it, you found a random girl and posed for a pic, right? And NC boys can only drink 10 in 2? One final word for you.................

Lightweight!!

ooh thems fighting words from cav. Gah, i forgot i had even put that picture up. I had been 21 for 2 hours, that count was made from about 12 onward. This doesnt take into the account of the beverages that were consumed before i was legal. The party had started about 3 oclock the day before....but of course the beverages i drank up until that point were all pepsi and water....*whistles innocently*

PS~ the girl is still around. I guess she felt sorry for me.

Hey Chip, Gary still hasn't quite figured out that "redhead routine" ;) I'm glad to see that you made it back on here! Speaking of "here", when are ya'll going to come visit us?

Yes it is a very expensive sport, as well as very addictive! During duck season I am lucky to get 2 hours of sleep during the weekend. But I enjoy every second I am out there. I also take my son out to see the ducks at the local lake. But recently the beaches have been closed due to e-coli. One of the major problems is too many ducks/geese in the area. The game and fish have taken all of the waterfowl out of the local "zoo" because it was too close to the lake as well. Not to mention swimers itch is also caused due to waterfowl droppings in the water. Most places around here have big signs that read "Do not feed the ducks/geese" . So I'm happy to go out and do my best to make sure I have food in the fridge and that I'm also cleaning up the water...

Duck hunting would be much easier with a loaf of bread and a throw net...but they just don't let you take em like that...LOL

I can't believe nobody mentioned your sweat pants, Ken....(so I figured I would...LOL)

Hopefully I'll get a pic up tomorrow...

Although I hate my picture...My brother in law took a good one of me with my son this weekend...so it is worth posting..although I am hideous...he is adorable...THANK GOD.

This IS a great thread...and nice to see everyone...although I am COMPLETELY curious about Spirit now...

Where can the rest of us buy these pics??? LOL

Shooting ducks with a mere bullet is probably as "sporting" as it could get. ;)

RIGHT...unless you are POACHING them...it would take some serious "cowboy shooting the center out of a dime" shooting with a duck going by at about 40MPH...LOL

kenster
02-07-2005, 03:17 PM
No doubt, that is why I have to use a shotgun! And of course a nice semi auto one, I love that third shot. Of course the third shot is always a 3 1/2, so I do know when i get to that one...

If you want big D, i can find you a pair of those sweat pants. I know how much you like them. I always go for sweats under my waders, gives them more of a comfy feeling

Alias47
02-07-2005, 03:20 PM
LOL....I think I actually have a pair of CAMO sweats that I wear under my bibs when I hunt...but you will NEVER see a pic of me in those (and I am sure you are very disappointed in that...LOL)...

I like my autoloader as well...especially when jumping out of a finisher ground blind after geese...but I ALWAYS shoot 3 1/2's ...
Not much difference in an X-2...can't really feel them...

kenster
02-07-2005, 03:25 PM
Yeah I'll not be able to sleep ever again if I saw you in camo sweats. Now I won't even mention that I had one camo boxers under those sweats, cause I know you'll want a pic :eek1: :p

The X2 is a sweet gun, as that is all I use for waterfowl anymore. For some reason I think we have had this conversation before.....

Alias47
02-07-2005, 03:26 PM
Me too on the x-2...and I definitely will have nightmares about the boxers...

I am sure we had this conversation once or twice before...so I guess we don't have to hi-jack this thread any longer :uzi:

It sucks having a dominant left eye. The only real decent lefty autoloader I've seen on the market is a Benelli Super Black Eagle, so I've got a bottom ejecting pump, a Browning BPS. And I have my eye (no pun intended) on a Beretta 686 over/under.
