Help with feeding!

I was told that my female blizzard corn i purchased at the hamburg reptile expo had eaten only once before i got her. I am starting to wonder if that wasnt true, or if the snake just isnt hungry. She only weighs 3 grams! I was told she ate live, so i offered her live; nothing. I offered her frozen; nothing. I offered her pre killed; nothing, I tried to feed her just the head of the pinkie cause shes so small; still nothing. I just don't know what to do anymore. I dont want her to die. Help please.

Is she due for a shed cycle? Many snakes won't eat at that time.

What temperatures are you keeping her enclosure at?

Its 83 degrees F, on the warm side and the cool side is like 76 degrees F.

Maybe try bumping the warm side up to 85 or 87. Have you tried tease feeding her or putting her and the pinkie in the deli cup you received her in overnight?

Well you can take away her water for a day then offer her a wet pinkie. I'd be careful though if she's only 3 grams.

3 grams is really small. I thought hatchlings were around 6 grams?

Yeah, they usually are, but was told she was healthy and fine being that small. And now the breeder wont contact me back, so i just hope she doesnt die.

Normally a breeder will get at least 3 good meals into a hatchling before selling it, unless they are offering you an out of egg discount. It probably wasn't so wise on your part purchasing a runt, even if it was love at first sight.

Yeah, it wasnt, but she was the only one at the expo and she fit in with my breeding project, so i couldnt resist. Wasnt too smart i guess...

How is this snake doing? Did she ever eat for you?

my first feeding with my blizzard hatchling I had to uber-heat the pinkie, then I dangled it by the tail in front of Khuno until he struck it. (he didn't get ahold of it so I put it down in the feeding tub and left him alone with it) when I came back 1/2 hr later, it was gone! hopefully this works for you.

I have heard of some people cutting the pinkie up into hamburger (sort of) and feeding this way with success.

you can allways bring her to a vet and try to get them to feed her

This thread was a month ago so I am hoping that the snake has already eaten.
