[I] asked a friend today how I can place my name on my pics as well as the copyright symbol. I appreciate any help!

Most photo software has a function to put a watermark on an image. You just need to create one that you want with the information you want on it. And an FYI, the copyright symbol is not required to be put on a photo for that photo to be copyrighted, but it can't hurt.

What is a good beginner software that can be either upgraded or just a good user friendly one? Now I am getting in the picture thing I want to mark my pics. Really the important and good ones.
