Hermes' vent, what's missing?

Hermes' vent is completely healed, works fine for him lol, etc. Corns are still new to me and his looks nothing like Nessie's or Ciqala's... their's you can barely notice. So what's missing? Has he got no vent scale anymore? What do you see, or in this case perhaps, not see?

He's completely relaxed in this first pic, I am only gently holding his tail up... not putting any pressure what so ever on him, he's actually slowly leaving my hand on his own.

This second one I share because it shows how from the side you can see the indent.

I know they're not the best pics, but it's tough for me to get good vent shots.

seems like the vent scale may be missing or damaged. glad to hear that there is no noticeable negative effect.

lol, he likes traveling in the nude now ;) I'm so glad it looks nice and healed, even with the vent scale missing.

So it's definitely the vent scale that is missing? With that missing, should he be on aspen? Or am I risking the chance of an infection?

I don't think that photo is sharp enough for us to see what it looks like. To me, it looks like a scar. I don't think it's anything to worry about; just keep an eye on it. I wouldn't take him off aspen unless it causes some sort of problem.
