Severus ate, but I'm worried about his digestion.

Severus ate a F/T pinky for me yesterday! Overall it went pretty well. I got him out of the viv (not with the most graceful handling technique, but I'll get better). I think he was feeding off of me and was a little nervous himself. He ate without any issue and then I returned him to his viv right away. My concern is this...when I put his tub into the viv, he slithered right up into the hammock that is covered by fake leaves. Just checked on him this morning and it seems he stayed there all yesterday afternoon and night. And he's still there as of me typing this. I'm worried he's not going to get enough belly heat to digest properly. What should I do? Leave him be and hope that he know to move down if he needs to? Or gently move him down to the ground? I don't want to bother him and risk regurg, but I'm scared he might either way. Help!

P.S. I'm on my way to work and I work until 7:30, so I won't be home to do anything until them. Thanks!

It's okay, don't bother him. Just let him leave him be. He picked that spot because it meets the heat need he is looking for.

Trust me, they won't do anything silly and hinder their digestion. Give him the standard two days of no handling after eating and he will all right.

Absolutely leave him be. Double-check that the floor surface on the warm side is correct at around 85, then just let him make up his own mind.

As long as he can get to the right temperature and stay out of sight whilst he's there. you can trust him to do the right thing. All you can do is provide the correct conditions and nature will take care of the rest. Mine don't always spend time on the warm side after eating.

You should never force a Corn out of their chosen temp zone. They know what's best.

Thanks guys! That calms me down a lot. The floor temp was reading 87 on the warm side (it fluctuates from 85-88) and 74.5 on the cool side this morning.

I have only 2 things to say....

First is to echo what everyone else has already said. He is normal and fine. :)

Second is with a keeper who cares as much as you do, he will grow to be an old old man who has had a wonderful life. :)

Mine have digested their meals on the cold side in winter and done fine. I've had them hang out in water bowls and digest...believe me, they can do the job with little trouble unless it's 50 degrees or the food item is too large.
