How to post a pic directly from my computer

Susan

Go Ahead, Make My Day!
Though I read somewhere that I could post a pic directly from my computer, say from My Documents. I tried, but it said that the pic didn't have a valid extension (gif jpg). I'm totally ignorant about most of this stuff. I don't even know how to put an attachment on an e-mail. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to post pictures, and explain it so that a small child could figure it out.

Thank you very much !!!

Most likely you don't have the proper file format on your picture. I know that sounds a bit confusing but when you look at the file on your computer it has a name right? Well after the name there should be a dot and then 3 letters. What are the 3 letters? They have to be jpg or gif to post them because those are the types of pictures that make the smallest file and take up the least space. Probably you have a different type of picture. If you have a photo editing software you can open the picture in that and choose Save As... under the File menu and try to save it as a different type of file. Save it as a jpg or a gif file. If you have Windows XP or Windows 2000 you can go to the Paint program and do it from there. Windows 95 and 98 can not do it with the Paint program. Hope this helps. Private Message me if you need more clarification, sometimes it's hard for a computer geek :) to explain things to someone else but I'll try! Good luck!

Open up your photo in paintshop or something similar and save it again, only when you save it, at the bottom, there is a dropdown bar, go down and select either .jpg or .gif

Then try what you did once more.
