Treating RIs with baytril

Does anyone here keep injectable Baytril on hand for their snakes in case of a diagnosed RI? I guess what I'm wondering for some of the people here with a large collection, is it common to self treat for something like an RI or is that automatically a vet trip type of thing?

I regularly self treat my dogs/cats/chickens/goat/llama etc etc but typically defer my snake stuff to my vet. However one of my older rescues that seems to come down with an RI every year was starting to bubble and gape again today so she's isolated with increased temps and preparing for a vet trip.

I've read a lot about "steaming" snakes with vicks/hot water/eucalyptus oil and providing them with injectable baytril to cure RI and just wondering if I should take her to the vet for the umpteenth time or give it a go at home since I actually have injectable baytril here.

Any thoughts?
