is it normal for some snakes to take >1 week to go from blue to shed? my rat is taking a while and while he looks healthy, i worry a lil bit.

sorry that this isn't exactly about corns.

I find that my hatchlings usually have a pretty quick shed process, but my older snakes sometimes take 10-12 days, approximately.

Different snakes have their own cycles, and it won't always be the same with the same snake. You aren't very specific about how long "a while" is, but it doesn't sound long enough to worry about.

Our first corn took what seemed like forever (I no longer remember how many days it really was) after her blue cleared up when she was having her first shed with us. She is my daughter's snake, and my daughter was getting a little impatient with not being allowed to handle her. I finally decided it had been so long that the snake had to have shed and eaten its own skin, because no other explanation seemed possible. So we took the snake out for a handling session, and the snake promptly shed in my daughter's hands.

Your snake will shed when it is ready.
