Continuing scale problem

I posted a while ago about a damaged scale on Maya's head. She just shed, and the bad scale has retained a bit of old skin. She isn't interested in me trying to soak it, and I'm wondering if anyone has an idea to moisten it up and see if I can get some of it off. She shed whole except for her head. Eye caps appear to be off, and the rest of her looks good. I'm wondering if it will come off on the next shed.

Try a Q-tip and some veggie oil.

I'll give that a try. I did try some neosporin on a q-tip, and yesterday while holding her I put a drop of water on the scale. I did get it softened, but it didn't come off all the way. I think it's just the perimeter of the damaged scale I'm seeing. It would be easier if it was her body though! It's really difficult to get her to let you mess with her head. She's already a shy snake, and doesn't like to be held as it is.
