My first 2 babies shed yesterday and I offered them food and it was a no go :( Then today I had another 2 babies shed and offered them food. I'm excited cause ONE of them took it. It's a small victory but I'll take it. Had to share cause I got 9 more to go and a win's a win :)

Jillian, once they've thawed out try boiling a cup of water and pouring it over the pinkies just prior to feeding your new babies :)

Boiling is like magic! But it's okay to wait a week after the shed. They still have yolk they are absorbing, that makes them not so hungry at first.

Wouldn't pouring boiling water over that tiny pinky cook it? Not that I'm disputing but they are just so tiny.

That's the idea. It's the single best trick to get non-feeding hatchlings to eat. But yours are more likely just too early to feed. Wouldn't hurt to try on the refusers, though. They wean off it very easily.

Good to know. These ones in the pictures are almost 2 weeks old. They were the first 4 to hatch. They were closest to the heating source. It took a week from start to finish for all 12 eggs to hatch.

When I take my eggs out to air once or twice a week, I rotate the egg container and change shelves, hoping to even things out. 9By out, I mean remove the egg container, removing the lid, and fanning the eggs for a minute to exchange air. I don't have air holes in my egg containers).

lol, yeah I thought about that after they started to hatch. These are the first, and were suppose to be only eggs...but my female threw a double clutch at me 61 days after the 1st. So now I'm sitting on 8 more eggs...I don't think they are all viable. There was one in there that looked like it was taking a turn for the worse but time will tell. If they were meant to make it they will I suppose.
