I was cleaning the tank of my snow and noticed a worm like insect next to the poop. I couldnt catch it in time, it was rather fast for a worm. I proceeded to clean out substrate and keep an eye out. Today there was another poop and i found another "worm".

Things to note:

This is the guy that has mites.

1.. I need to confirm whether these are worms or not so i can know what to google and research.

2. If it is infact worms, how did they come to be?

3. Is this contagious, if so, how?

Ugh, it feels like all my snake life is coming apart, this stuff really puts you to the test doesnt it.

i googled "mite larvae" in google images. Cannot tell by your picture if its a match, but it gives you a start. you can finetune your search based on this.

http://www.google.com/search?q=mite+larvae&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=rLfWUcTwAYrtrAfSz4DYCA&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1600&bih=785

many insects lay eggs and what hatches are worms or larvae, before they are flys or whatever other nasty little creature bugs they turn into as adults.

Most COMMON feeder worms are larvae. eg. wax worms, phoenix worms.

did you clean all the cage decoration after getting rid of the mites? Perhaps, they are still living in something a branch or a decoration?

Hope this helps, let us know what you find out
