Mice to rats

My corn snake is about 4 ft now. He has been on medium mice for a few months . It seems to me that that might not be enough for him. When should I move to the small rat. Theres such a difference in size.
Thanks.

There is no need to ever feed your corn snake rats. One large mouse every other week is fine.

Not so...I feed mine both. Depends on what I can afford at the time. Rat crawlers are very close in size to jumbo mice. One adult mouse does not satisfy mine. Esp my female after she has laid a clutch of eggs. She gains weight better eating rat crawlers then being on mice.

So then, these Red Rat Snakes shouldn't eat rats? Darn. I've been doing it all wrong for decades. If it's big enough and wants to, feed it small rats. I've never had a problem with them.

Mice or rats of the appropriate size work equally well for corn snakes. Mice are cheaper, unless you raise your own feeders. I've also never met a corn that didn't love quail. :)
