Rubbed Scales?

Aozora

Blue Sky Reptiles
Envy, my 3-year-old male hypo pied, is rubbing the scales off of the top of his head and neck. He's in an Animal Plastics rack, so the roof of his rack is not very rough, but he's been very active. His temperatures are all normal, and all the other snakes in the rack are just fine. However, he has been popping his hemipenes at anything that moves.

I'm just being a worried snake mom--is there anything I can do to prevent him from rubbing his scales? And what can I do for the scales he's already rubbed?

I would give him a good soak to be sure it's not part of a stuck shed.

Also sounds like he's looking for some ladies.

Given the call of nature, I don't now if there's much that can be done to prevent the behavior/problem. You could remove as much rough stuff as possible, but he'll still rub walls and windows and just about anything he can to try and find a way out.

With the current damage, it doesn't look too bad yet. If it gets worse or you notice any sores then betadine and or plain neosporin should keep infections at bay. He should start to clear up and look better after a shed or two once he's done going hornball.
