White Spots on Scales?

The other day, I noticed that my fire motely, Callisto, has developed some white spots on the scales along his neck. Anyone know what's up with this? I'm not worried, just curious! :)

Well, this snake has never had a bad shed, so I don't think that's it. And I've looked closely at the scales, and they aren't damaged or malformed; they just appear to be missing color.

That's odd. My ultramel has a few scales like this further down on his body. At first they looked like a scar, but he hasn't had any injuries...?

Could Callisto possible be a Sunrise Bloodred? I'd check with who ever you bought it from. Sunrise animals develop white scales with age.

My male bloodred had those. He scraped the pigment off from his plastic hide.

I see it on some of my Lavas too.

My red factor boy has some scales like that almost in the same spot. He had an old injury from trying to get to the girls so I figure his is from that.

Thanks for the replies. Callisto definitely hasn't had any injuries. I kind of doubt that he is a sunrise, but I guess if he develops more white flecking, I will have to revisit that idea!
