Hey everyone!
So as a few of you may remember, I recently got a blue tongued skink -- who BALLOONED in a few short weeks, by the way. All summer I've been working on fixing up an old, yucky PVC tank that I got for cheap. It couldn't come at a better time than now, one week after we moved into a new apartment, and just as Azure has certainly outgrown her 15gal starter.
Well!
After completely cleaning the insides, adding a new acrylic front, new hinges and clasps, cutting apart the top and siliconing a (partial) wire screen top, drilling air holes (because who doesn't have air holes in their used tank already!?) and adding LEDs, we finally have our finished product.....................................
(The top one!)
Pretty proud, if I do say so myself!
I couldn't have done it without the wonderful support and effort put forth by my amazing partner. I must admit, he was the one who did the cutting and drilling of the operation, seeing as he does that kind of stuff for a living.
I am currently waiting for Facebook to cooperate so I can show you Azure's initial (and slightly unexpected) reaction of her new tank! It's about a 10 second video but probably sums up BTS fairly well....
Thanks for looking! And I'll reply with the video ASAP.
