Curious Question

Tiffycj

Western Corns
On feeding day I realized that my granite was deep blue, so, as usual, I held off feeding until he shed. He shed yesterday sometime between 4 and 5 pm. I offered a f/t around 9, and he refused it.

I offered today (usually I would wait another five days as per protocol, but I know this guy pretty well and he has NEVER refused a mouse). He took it readily, constricting and eating like normal.

Does shedding maybe stress them out? Opinions? Experiences?

I think it varies depending on the snake. Mine will eat pre-shed, post-shed, or while in blue. I found out about the shed thing by accident. I dropped her mouse into her, and she came out of her hide and snatched it, and had apparently went into blue overnight. Didn't slow her down at all.

I just received the result of a gram stain test that I applied for on Monday:

60% gram negative

I don't really know what that means other than it's bad and she'll be needing antibiotics and further fecal tests to determine the best approach to kill whatever's infected her. It's not crypto, is it?
