Granite Graybands Project

This is a really cool project (in my mind) that is on going with Don at South Mountain Reptiles. The females show more of the granite than the males with some of the males not even showing at all. This trait seems to be inheritable but with more tests are in the works.
Here is a gal of mine who should be big enough to breed next year and also Don's male(who is one of the few males that does show the "granite") and another female.
Thanks for looking

Very cool. I love GBKs. Like many species, just seemed a lot of work for what I was able to sell them for. Curious to see the mode of inheritance in these. Please keep us updated, and congrats!

Great looking GBKs! Do you have any hatchling pics by chance? Here are my 2 2013s. I'm just curious what your looked like as hatchlings.

They look the same from hatching, here is a pic of my girl when she was little and now. Great looking GB's by the way.

I was looking at these photos thinking, "man they look familiar".... Had to go way back into my photo files to find one like them that I hatched out in 1997. Wish I could remember the name of the guy I sold it to.... I can see his face, but the name just isn't coming forward.

I didn't even see this post from you last fall, sorry. Was it maybe John Schmitt (don't know if the spelling is correct) or Gourmet Rodents?

Here she is after her prelay shed, just full of eggs from that orangey male. The pic is from Don (SMR).
