So Nagini still never completely closes her mouth. I was googling signs of illness in snakes and it says this could be a sign of RI and to put it in a quaratine container, warmer, & in a quiet room. Do you think I should do this? She's active and eats fine. This is how her mouth was when I got her, I didn't know it wasn't normal.

And it also said if their mouth was pale, so here's the best pic I could get.

My other snake's mouth is dark red, but I assume that is due to her albino genes.

Does she sneeze or have sinus discharge?

Vet visit.

Yeah for sure since we really can't tell from pics what's going on...

To me, it appears her head is swollen. Also it looks like a stuck shed just on her head. She go through a shed cycle recently? Again, to me, from the pics it doesn't appear that she is open mouth breathing. Maybe it's all camera angle ?

Hope all go's well :)

I thought she looked like she had a puffy throat, too. Which is not uncommon when the snake is blue or clear.

She's never shed since I got her on November 6th. Hoping she will soon. Neither has my other one they I got the same day. Seems like they should be ready to shed any day. Unfortunately we just had $1400 unexpected bills with both vehicles so can't even pay regular bills. Vet will have to wait. I'm hoping she'll be fine once she sheds. She doesn't have any other symptoms. I don't even know what open mouth breathing looks like. If anyone has a pic please post so I can compare. Maybe this is just get normal.

Here are a couple with mouth closed normally. They close tightly. There is a small opening left open for the tongue to pass through. Yours is definitely not closing all the way. It could be lots of different things. The vet is a good idea.

I know what regular closed mouth looks like as I have two other baby corns. I want to see pic of open mouth breathing. I think I'll Google it.

Google mouth rot and you will see pictures of snakes with their mouth stuck open in a similar way. I'm not saying she has mouth rot, it will just give you the pictures you want.

She definitely doesn't hold her mouth open like that and her mouth looks healthy.

Yeah mouth rot is nasty. She might have a jaw problem. There are lots of possibilities.

I just got her out to eat and weighed her, she's only 11g which is what she was when I first got her. She was 13g on the 22nd of Nov. and then started going back and forth between 11g and 12g. She's still eating whenever Jafar does, but Jafar is 14g now and she ate 1.5 pinkies tonight, first time for more than one pinkie. Nagini didn't eat right away like she usually does so I put her in a small container in her viv and we'll see if she eats overnight.
I looked up some herp vets and will make some calls tomorrow to see what there going rate is for a visit. Unfortunately most likely I will not be able to take her as we're having really difficult financial problems right now and husband says they're talking lay offs at work. I've got four kids, so they and our livelihood must come first. :(

I don't know when she hatched. I got her from petsmart. She was same size as my other one that hatched Sept 9th. I'll post pic ASAP.

Also she did eat overnight and I called the vet. He said to put her in a small container with wet paper towels and a small water bowl for one week. I haven't done it yet as I'm at work.

For a week? I would worry about scale rot. Is this a herp vet?

I took her to the vet. He has been a herp vet forever, saw him 20yrs ago with my iguana. He said it looks like she's had a head trauma which is causing her to retain part of her shed, which may mean that I'll have to assist her with sheds. Or else it's a congenital birth defect. As far as her mouth, that's congenital. He said she's what a breeder would've fed to something else. Well, she's my special needs baby now I guess and I love her to pieces. So he said not to worry that she's not gaining weight, she may just be slow and not get big.
