Amelanistic Squirrel!

At the University where I work, we have a population of squirrels with a relatively high frequency of albinism. I used to see them outside my apartment often, when I lived closer to campus, but it has been a few years. But I saw one today in the medical center area!

Very cool!
We had them where I went to school also. Just one or two in the regular population. I have not seen one in years. I think they are so beautiful. Thanks Duxor. Great shot.

The population of squirrels near my mom's house also had a high frequency of albinism. As a kid, I thought it was one squirrel that just hung around a lot, so I named it "Snowball." Imagine my surprise when one day I saw two Snowballs together at the bird feeder! Mom occasionally still sees them nowadays.

Oddly, I have an amel (stripe) cornsnake named Squirrel. I was confused for a minute!

Awesome! I've never seen an albino critter of any stripe in the wild, personally.
