Snake Lost Scales?

Hey everyone,

My snake seems to have lost scales on the top of his head with his last shed. The shed came off in one piece, but there was a red scale stuck to the head of the old skin. Is this a humidity issue? It's been dry in my apartment lately due to the heater, but I've been keeping the humidity up in his tank. The area on his head without the scales is smooth and white and doesn't look inflamed. He hasn't lost any on his body. Any ideas what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks.

A pic would help ;)

Snakes will rub their heads against objects to help facilitate the start of shedding and chances are that's when the damage happened. The smooth white area you can see is skin so no worries about infection from an open wound. No "fix" needed :)

Here's a picture. Sorry it's blurry, he isn't being very cooperative. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/02/23/11982830b6dca3e3483243753fc8948f.jpg

Doesn't look like the skins broken so he'll probably be fine, no risk of infection. Keep an eye on it over the next while, they'll regrow. Make sure your humidity is at the correct level and check the tank to see if he could of rubbed them off on anything hard/sharp. For instance, my corn bent a couple scales backwards because of a fake plant in his tank - these are all back to normal now. [emoji4]
