Tried getting some decent pictures of him today. Considering how consistently hard I find getting good pictures of the Mandarins, I'm quite pleased with these, even if they aren't quite as good as I was hoping to get.

Just getting in the groove and someone rang my doorbell though, darn! At least the person at the door wasn't totally phobic and we had a nice conversation about snakes.

Malcolm will be on loan to a local Zoo at the end of the month, (along with Atari) until Sept and I'm really going to miss my boys!

That's really neat that Malcolm and Atari can be ambassadors for their respective species at the local zoo!

Yeah, it's exciting but kind of scary too! The Zoo is the biggest one in this part of the state and they are doing a temporary Asian Reptiles and Amphibians exhibit. It's otherwise a nice Zoo but is almost completely lacking in reptiles of their own. The Zoo Superintendent is the mother to a lady that keeps and breeds reptiles and is active in the local reptile keeping groups, so I've "known" her for about 5 years. She is loaning the Zoo her Reticulated python and told them about us, since she knew we keep a lot of Asian ratsnakes.

This is the first time that they've done loans with private individuals, rather than another Zoo, so figuring out how to modify the loan agreement paperwork has been a little interesting.

We met with the guy that is designing the exhibits awhile ago, he will also be one of the primary caregivers for them. He showed us his rough drafts for designing the exhibits, they sound really neat. Going to be done with a very Asian theme and he will be color coordinating everything to compliment Malcolm and Atari's colors, make them pop out in the enclosures.
