Nyah the House Snake

Seeing posts of all of the adorable little house snakes put them in the forefront of my mind. When I heard that my breeder had one little girl left over from last year, I knew I had to have her. Shes a phenomenal little snake, and such a sweet gal! So now I proudly introduce my newest addition, Nyah.

Thanks everyone :) Clydesdale and Eve played a big role in my decision to get her. They're both just precious and I love watching their progress on the forum!

Albertagirl- As far as I know, she's just a normal. Some of her clutch mates were darker in color from what I was told, and a few of them looked like Nyah.

I can't wait to watch this little girl grow up. She wasn't handled much before I got her, but she's very calm, and only a little jumpy if I startle her.

I make 99% of my posts from my iPad so same thing with auto spell. The normal colors can vary quite a bit. That is "normal". I'm so glad we've "corrupted" you, lol. Welcome to the housie club!

Well that gives me hope that maybe I'll be able to find one around here that doesn't look exactly like Eve. I really want another one, but having two snakes I can't tell apart doesn't appeal to me.

Dollysmom- best corruption ever! My better half has put a hold on getting any more new additions until we get upgraded enclosures. We're transferring all of our kiddos to PVC and melamine enclosures. There will be a lot of building in the near future. The snake room is getting a makeover!

Whoo! Snake room makeover sounds exciting. Can't wait to see the finished product.

To answer your question people ship in all the time but I never have, don't know how, and have no idea how expensive it is. I do know a breeder or two who may be willing to do it for me though. I would definitely look into it if I found something tempting enough.

Got some updated photos of Nyah today! She was doing great until one of the cats darted through the room and startled her. She lost her balance on my arm, and when I caught her she decided to attack my finger. Poor little gal. She has since recovered, eaten two pinkies, and is digesting happily on her hammock.

She is beautiful. I love her lacy pattern. The individualiy in their patterns never ceases to amaze me.

When do you think Candy will be coming home to you? I look forward to her photos and watching her grow up :)

We're waiting on Twister. If he eats and sheds well, Tavia will send them together maybe end of August, but most likely in September. Argh! I'm living vicariously through all of your pictures and posts as well as the pictures and video from Tavia.

Wow. I can understand why you're going stir crazy. They will be worth the wait and then some! I'm rooting for little Twister! I've been looking at Tavia's updates on Candy. She's such a little darling :)

Candy is Clyde's sister. Is Nyah related?

I'm sure they are all distant cousins, but as far as we've determined Nyah, and Clyde and Candy, are unrelated.

Nyah is completely unrelated as far as I know. But it's hard to say for certain. Not a lot of breeder's work with house snakes, so it isn't outside of the realm of possibility that somewhere along the line some of our kiddos share a relative.

[Tavia]

Ukiah and Indigo, Clyde and Candy's parents, are unrelated and were bought from Matthew Most in Indiana but they were not produced by him. That's all I know about their background, unfortunately.

I'm way overdue for an update on little Nyah. My girl is growing like a weed, and is a voracious eater. She's developed a bit of an attitude lately, but nothing that some bonding sessions can't take care of. If she keeps growing like she is, she'll be moving up to a 20 gallon in no time. Last night was feeding night, so I snapped some photos of her in her feeding container. She has a tendency to drag her food all through her substrate, even if I give her a paper towel, so she eats in a medium deli container. No muss, no fuss :)
