are we allowed to use animated gifs in our avatars?
also, are avatar sizes limited when you give a url rather than uploading?

I see many animated avatars on this site, so it's probably OK.

Can't answer about the size limitations if a url is used. I would go ahead and try. It should let you know if the size is too big when you load it.

Thanks, mines WAY too big and the filesize does apply to ALL avatars.
That makes sense because it would be a pain to load too big an avatar on a slow connection, regardless of the source.
