When I check out who's online(being nosy) often there will be several quests and a few google spiders listed.
 
A google spider is an automated program sent by Google (among other search engines) that visits web sites to ensure they are still active, thereby ensuring the Google Site list is accurate. I hope that make some sense. :cool:
 
Spider programs also scan the text of websites so they will come up in keyword searches when people seek info on those words. Getting noticed by the spider programs is one of the main methods of getting your website indexed by the search engines.
