Feeding question

Hello all. We have a 2 month old corn. She's approximately 14 inches long and smaller than the width of your pinky figner. I was told by the store that she only needs to eat 1 pinky once a week. However in talking with friends who have similarly aged corns, they are feeding 2-3 pinkies per week. Who's right? I don't want to overfeed her, but I also don't want her to be hungry (of course). Thanks in advance!

2 pinkies every 5-7 days sounds better for this size of corn. At this age they are greedy and soon burn off the excess.

I agree with cornman, 1-2 pinkies every 5 days at that age is good. IMO 1 pinky a week is not going to give your corn much nutrition or growth. Welcome!

Thanks. I'll start doing that then. How soon after she's eaten can she be handled? My dh read somewhere, not sure where, that you should wait 48 hours to handle them after feeding so they can digest. We waited 48 hours (the lump had gone down) after this last feeding but it seemed like a very long time. Thanks again.

If you go up to 2 pinkies, its probably best to wait the 48 hrs. You dont wanna chance a regurgitation

I'd better move up to 2 pinkies..

my snake had his first shed (with me) last week, which was pretty exciting. A few days after I gave him a pinkie
he's about 13 inches

I wait 48 hours after feeding any snake, just to give them some piece and quiet and time to get a good star on digestion. If it was a bigger snake i would say leave longer, but 48 if fine for a corn.
