I just put a neonate into a kritter keeper for feeding and it saw the price tag stuck on the bottom (outside) of the keeper. It tried to eat that instead of the pinky. It took a few tries with an open mouth to realise that it couldn't eat what it thought it saw as a meal. It did get the pinky in very short order.

Aw bless it! Mine's managed to get a mouth full of plastic plant before, and last feed he struck his 'tree' instead of the mouse! Wazzock, he'll hurt himself one day. Lets hope your lil one improves with age :)
