feeding problem

well I have been having a problem with two of my corns same age and size(from the same clutch ghost motley X striped snow) and they are just not eating frozen prey. Could it be that they don't like cold dethawed food? I took one of the fuzzies and wiggled it in front of the males hide and it launched at it and constricted it and then did not eat it. The other one simply just smells it and pays more attention to my hand movement. Both have shed perfectly and appear to be in good condition. The only thing now is probably to give them freshly killed mice. what you think? Given they have been moved to a new enclosure. They are 45 cm and their tanks 60X45X30 cm.LXBXH

Hi there,

I defrost my fuzzies in hot water. So they are warm when I feed them. I also feed my corns in a separate container. I use a washing up bowl for that. Just put the snake in with the mouse, cover with a lid and wait about 15min. The mouse is 99.9% being eaten. That works for me.

This is a much bigger question than "do they not like F\f/t mice". There could be dozens of reasons why your snake isn't eating.

How long have you had the snake? What was it eating when you got it? How old are the frozen mice? What temperature is the enclosure? How old are the snakes? What sex are the snakes? What size mice are you offering?

Get my point? ;)

It is uncommon to find a corn snake that will not accept thawed mice, so perhaps there is another problem that needs to be addressed.

The way you worded it made it sound as if the mice are thawed, but still cold. I always make sure mine are heated up in hot water until they are close to a live mouse's temp. Around 100 degrees is the internal body temp. I've never had trouble with them eating them.

Well they have both eaten but what I find the problem is that they don't like a still mouse. I have to move it in front of them or they are not interested. will this improve you think? My other corn will gobble up anything.

Actually, the only problem is if it's a problem for you! If you don't mind teasing them with it until they take it, then it's not really a problem. I have a couple that are like that.
