Can someone give me a description of a Striped Normal Cornsnake?

As in, belly looks like this,,sides look like this etc.

Mine is rust orange on top (no actual stripe, vanishing stripe corn from kathy love) Bright yellow on her sides, and belly is solid creamy white. Sounds correct?

:)

Mine has a white belly but towards the end of his body moving toward the tail, his belly gets a little "peppered" with tiny black dots and kind of orangish. No checkers though.

He has actual stripes. They are reddish-orange.

His sides are a little lighter orange than the rest of him, but not really yellow.

Actually I'm kind of typing this from memory so I'm going to have to take a look at him in a bit and edit his description. Maybe take a few pics.

Thanks. My girl honestly looks like a sunset.....the yellow is quite bright on her sides, in comparision to her rusty red on top. And like yours, mine has no checks, although I see one little area of black pepper a bit. :) But other than that all white belly, Yellow sides, rusty red top :)

I had to get pics to measure him with Serpwidgets's snake measurer thing anyway, (I have to download the program first...) so I figured I'd take a few more and post them here

I accidentally cut off his head and didn't realize it until now but you can see his colors. This is pretty close to what he really looks like. The only way he stays still for a pic is when he's eating so I gave him a little pinkie.

For some reason the closeup function screws up the colors. That's why he looks really dark and redder here.

Actually, there was an error when I tried to run the program. Something about COMDLG32.OCX. I sent Serpwidgets a PM and hopefully he'll know what's wrong and how to fix it.

Iris,

that snake is beautiful! My girl looks VERY similar to that minus the darker stripe....but the yellow and rusty colors are the same!

Wonderful snake!

He appreciates the compliment but modestly gives all the credit to his wonderful owner. :D ;)

Actually I'm a little curious about vanishing stripes. Do they have stripes at first and then lose them over time? What do you get when you cross a regular stripe with a vanishing?
Ok, so I'm VERY curious...

Apparently, the stripe may or may not vanish completly....I am not to sure about the genetics myself as she was bought with another female who I originally inquired about and was kinda part of the deal :)

But anyways the guy said she was from Kathy Love originally, and that some lose half, some lose all, etc. Mine has lost over 3/4ths of her striping, and is almost solid color.

If anyone here has more info on the genes here please pipe up!!! :)

I don't have any info about the vanishing part, but that is defiantely a normal striped corn. I could make out the stripes fairly easily on the photo of his eating (where you cut off part of his head). The black that would normally be seen around the saddles of a normal get sort of "lost" when you add the motley or stripe pattern, making the pattern more difficult to see. Very nice snake!

Hi!

I emailed Kathy Love and asked for a little more information about my Vanishing Stripe female....

She basically said she bred an Okeetee and a Stripe together, got motleys, stripes, and these little weird ones with little bits of pattern. She bred these together and got the kind I have now, where the stripe vanishes with sheds. But also said thats as far as she has taken it so far.

Thanks for the compliment, Susan! Actually, when I got him, I think his stripes seemed much darker and they have slightly lightened over time. But he's getting brighter in general so I'm pretty positive he's just a normal normal stripe. :)

Thanks for getting that info, bmm. Hm...very interesting...
So, I am definitely going to have to get a normal vanishing stripe in a few years and cross her with my normal normal stripe. My guess is that some would be regular stripe, some slightly vanishing, and some completely vanishing. But I won't know for sure until I or someone else does the cross I suppose.

I love stripes!

Iris, does your normal stripe have a head pattern of any kind?

Mine doesn't and has a weird grey/ olive green colored head.

I am very curious about stripes as you can see! lol..And did you see the "scok head" corn pics posted on kingsnake? This is similiar to the head pattern going on with my female.

Well he used to have a gray head and a small "v" shaped mark in a reddish/brownish color but lately it's faded into like all gray
This pic is from when he was in shed but I'll get a better pic tomorrow when he sheds if you want.

Yes I saw the "sockhead" snake. Really strange yet cool at the same time!

Mine doesn't and has a weird grey/ olive green colored head.

That's interesting bmm. My normal striped/motley is a conventional dark orange background colour at the head end, and goes the olive/green colour for his rear two-thirds.

No head pattern evident yet, but he seems to change slightly with each shed.
