Rack Systems 2

I've got another question about rack systems. Well, it's more to do with the size of the containers. What do you call those containers you use? Rubber Maids? Well I don't think we have them over in the UK so how big do they need to be for one snake? Could I have the dimensions in inches please as I don't understand the gallons thing.
Thanks a lot.

Well I personally don't use Rubbermaid.....I use Sterilite...but it's around the same....(I just like Sterilite's looks better....)

The dimensions that I use are as follows...

231/4 x 17 x 6 (Deepth x Width x Height) inches!

Hope this helped!

Good Luck and Happy Herping..

LOL he ment 23in +1/4 of a inch not 231 inches... I also use the same Steralite sweaterboxes... they are the 28qt. Sterilite...

Basically Rubbermaids are just clear plastic storage bins that people use for all sorts of stuff (storing old toys, clothes, etc.).

What about the heating? Do people here use heat tape or strips? Is the wiring for the tapes complicated or is it fairly simple once you get the hang of it. Could you just use a separate heat strip for each shelf or would that not work out cost-effective (plus all those wires would probably get quite annoying)?

Well I am using heat tapes right now.
I use two slides of heat tapes between two racks. That way half of the tubs get heat and the other half doesn't....so a gradient level is made....

Oops...forgot to answer the installing question...
it's VERY easy once you get tha hang of it....I can install 22 heat tapes within an hour.....or less....
but I buy cables that are uncut....so I have to cut them and prepare for the installation part before doing any installments....
