Does anyone know any contact information for Big Cheese Rodent Factory? I have been trying to go to their website (www.bigcheeserodents.com), but it does not seem to exist anymore. I am wondering if they are still in business. If not, I'm going to be frustrated because I have about $65 of store credit with them! Anyone who can provide contact information or any information about this, please let me know!
Thanks!
I think it is on your end because I just clicked on the link and it opened right up. :shrugs:

That's really weird. I'm still getting the "this page cannot be displayed" message. I'm not having trouble with any other sites. Do you have any suggestions?

The link works for me too, and I just got a huge shipment in from them 2 weeks ago, so no worries about the business gone bad...

Thanks Quigs! I think I'll wait a few days to see if the problem solves itself. If not, I'll have to email Chad Martin from Big Cheese to see if there's something going on on his end. Is anyone else having trouble getting on to the site? Thanks to all for your help.

clicked the link you provided, have never been there before.... Cheesey Picture on the page! :)
I would clear your cache on your computer and try it again. Seems unlikely it is a problem with the site, more likely it is a problem with your computer, since so many of us have been able to get to the site

Sasheena- How exactly do I go about "clearing my cache?" Thanks to all for the replies. :)

If you're using Internet Explorer go up top to the tools menu and choose internet options... and on the first "general" tab you'll see links to clear your browsers cache.

Hmmm... I am using internet explorer, but I'm not seeing any way to clear my "cache" on the general tab of internet options. I tried the "delete cookies" button, but I still can't get to the site. Any suggestions?

right next to delete cookies is "delete files" try that one too... and for good measure try the "delete history" or "clear history" and then try to go to the website by typing in the URL

Alright, I tried both of those. Still no luck. I suppose the next step is to call the internet company I use. Anyone have any other ideas? It's just weird that I have no trouble getting to any other web sites and that everyone else can get to the big cheese site. Thanks again.

Are you set to accept cookies from their site?

Once in awhile your computer will hang on to the page in it's cache no matter what you do. When that happens, go to run all the deletions previously spoken of, then shut the whole system down for at least 2 minutes. I know, when you're surfing 2 minutes is an eternity. Shut it down and go grab a snack...come back and bring the system back up. Something about letting all the bytes and bits settle themselves sometimes does the trick. I'll have this happen when I'm trying a new web effect and need to refresh and see the NEW page rather than the one I just "fixed." Good luck!

Okay,
D80-
I went to the tools menu, internet options, hit the "privacy" tab and then set it to accept all cookies from the big cheese site. That didn't do anything.
Rosebear-
I tried the "Delete Files," "Delete Cookies," and the "Clear History" buttons and then shut down the computer while I ate dinner. This didn't do anything either.
So what now? This is so crazy!

Hello, this is Carol's husband butting in.
There are a few reasons that this could be happening.
This website is hosted by Yahoo business services, which I have used in the past.
Occasionally they will update ip address banks used to point to their hosted servers. Depending on the name lookup servers (DNS Servers) between them and you, it could take up to 72 hours for the new address to link up to the domain name.
Or,
Your local ISP may have updated their servers causing the same effect.
All of the suggestions mentioned earlier should have helped if it were just on your system end. (Although one more was left out. Opening up a command prompt and typing "ipconfig /flushdns")
If this isn't working by Tuesday, I would call your isp and make sure they are not having problems.

I tried the command prompt and got the message "Successfully flushed DNS Resolver Cache." This still didn't get me onto the site. It has definitely been over 72 hours already since I first tried to get onto the site with no success. Unless someone knows anything else that I can try, I think that it might be time to call my ISP. Thanks to everyone for their help.

Are you having problems with any other site? Typically if it just one site than we could reasonably assume that it was a problem with that site. But everyone else can access it so we know that this isn't the case.
If you're not already doing it every now and again I would recommend scanning your PC for adware/spyware and running a good antivirus program. One of the best free spyware programs in my opinion(others may disagree) is Lavasoft's Ad-Aware which can be downloaded from http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-0-2
A great free Anti-Virus(again in my opinion) is Grisoft's AVG Anti-Virus, which can be downloaded from http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5
I've seen machines infected with spyware that can wreak havoc on your internet browsing, alot of times allowing you not to display certain sites or even re-directing you when you attempt to access them.
Speaking of dns directories... Purging your DNS cache won't do anything if your local "hosts" file is filled with erroneous entries often caused by spyware infection. This is the first place your pc will look when attempting to resolve a name like bigcheeserodents.com to its corresponding IP address. Any good anti-spyware program will check this for you, but you can look at it yourself at c:windowsdriversetcand find the file labeled hosts. It should look like this:
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
There should be nothing else after this line. Good luck.

Wjohnson-
I can't seem to find that. I checked "my computer" and used the search function to search my c: drive. More detailed instructions to help me along would be great! Thanks for your help.

The instructions looked funny after I posted it... You should find the hosts file if you goto my computer select the c drive and then open up the windows folder.. system32 folder...drivers folder, and then the etc folder... You're hosts file is in there. Double click it and select wordpad to open it. You may get messages warning you not to play with these files, just select the link down the bottom of the blue screen to display the files.

It's strange that it wold be happening with just that one website. But I guess you could always just give them a phone call or email if you can't reach the site.
