I have 2 related questions here.

I would like to know first what is the average weight of your 2004 and 2003 snakes. I know they grow all differently but you can indicate an average of the majority.

And if you could in addition, indicate what is your feeding schedule and if you feed them with mice or rats.

Don't forget to specify if they are 2004 or 2003.

Thanks a lot!

Caroline, I don't have a scale but my 03's eat 1 mouse per week, unless they are unusually small, then I give them 2. My 04's get 1 or 2 fuzzies per week, depending on the availability of the feeders

I feed weekly on f/t mice for all my snakes (except hatchlings). Here's the most current info.

2003: (weighed 7/27)
Star - 222g, 2 small adult or 1 jumbo adult (was bred before we got her)
Soleil - 282g, 2 small adult or 1 jumbo adult
*prefer 1 jumbo adult but ran out and was not able to get more

2004: (weighed 8/10)
Spaz - 94g, 2 hoppers^
Sweetheart - 92g, 2 hoppers^
Shadow - 73g, 2 fuzzies (will be moving up to 1 hopper next week)
Selena - 73g, 2 fuzzies (will be moving up to 1 hopper next week)
Snickers - 53g, 2 fuzzies
Sunshine - 52g, 2 fuzzies
Worm - 41g, 2 fuzzies
^ not sure if these guys are really late 2003 or ereally arly 2004
Hope it helps some!

Caroline...

My '03s range in weight from 400 grams to around 250 grams.
My '03s eat 1 Jumbo Adult mouse (35-45 grams) every 7-10 days.

'04s 100 grams to around 40 grams.

'04s eat either 1 hopper or 1 peach fuzzie every 7 days or so, depending on the individual snake's size. I do put 3 slits in each prey item still for these guys.

Container temps are kept around 83-84 F warm side to mid-high 70s F cool side.

Hope this info is of some use to you (smile).

i use rats for my feedings. i dont have them wieghed out but my 03's last year were all plenty big to breed. i only chose to breed one but it was her first year and i didn't even brumate her. she turned out 18 follicles on the clutch. not all were fetilized but i think that has to do with the brumation and the male.

anyway i think the bone density in the rats is more nutritious to the snakes and gives them more nutrients.

a majority of the times they are fed every 5-7 days.
i think the rats really affect the growth rate in corns. i have 04's right now that can breed, and would put them up against any other 04's out there in terms of size. i dont power feed. so i think it is a result of the feeding of rats over mice.
