feeding

caveman

I have a corn snake called caveman, I got him a cave and he spends most of his time there. He just shed a month ago. I've tried to feed him but he will not eat. I asked the pet store owner but she does not know. She told me to try a frozen mouse but he didn't touch it. Then she told me to try a live pinky but he smelled it and just went bank in his cave. I heat the pinky in hot water for five to ten min, and put it in front of his cave but he just leaves it there. I don't know what to do. help please?!?

By the sound of it, you've got a hatchling (guessing based on giving it pinkies).

Try using a separate feeder tub. Something small enough that the snake can't miss the food. Pop the snake and the warmed pinkie in the tub (make sure it has some airholes!) and cover the tub with a towel or something. Then leave it in TOTAL peace and quiet and come back in an hour or so.

See how that goes .....
