I'm about to feed Maxx his first fuzzy tomorrow. His last two feedings have been two pinkies and he kept them down no problem.

I just want to make sure these are not too big (I'm new at this).

So, since I'm a webmaster and I have access to digital camera's and graphic programs I used a tripod to snap some photos, do some digital magic, and voila... you can see a picture of Maxx with two fuzzies laying beside him.

Of course I am only going to feed him ONE fuzzy tomorrow - I just put both in the picture because one was smaller than the other. I also did a shaded area over one fuzzy that represents how big Maxx is...

Comments please...

He should easily be able to eat a fuzzy. I would make several cuts in the back with a pair of scissors as I've found this makes it easier for them to digest the mouse, and if it's a little wide, for him to squash it more easily. I don't think you have anything to worry about though.

I've never "operated" on a mouse before... do you cut those lengthwise or across the body? one big cut or a lot of small cuts...

so far, so good...

Maxx ate the fuzzy no problem, I did the snips along the back as suggested and it was not as bad as I thought it would be (visions of bleeding and mouse parts).

Normally, Maxx goes to the warm side of the tank after a meal... this time he has stayed on the cool side (which must be pushing 70 degrees since we keep our house at 68).
