mites!!

I was handling Rocky last night and found a couple of mites on him, i immediately got all my corn books out to see what to do. I then bathed him in warm water for 30 mins and thoroughly cleaned his viv. I then moved him into his new bigger viv, i have checked him today and can't see any on him anymore i know i need to check in 9 days time is what i have done ok ?? and he shed today in his new tank that won't affect him will it?? he is 2ft long now exactly he was 15 inches when i bought him.
