Sick of seeing my pics yet??

Been out a bunch of times this spring without seeing a single Garter untill today!! Actually the most productive herping hike yet this year with the final counts for today being:

14 Rattlesnakes
4 Bullsnakes
5 Wandering Garters

A bunch of Black Widows.

Finally found some of last years baby Rattlers and some juvies today as well, it's hillarious how they like to sit on the edge of their holes and as soon as you come too close they literally launch themselves over the side into the hole.

First some Garter pics......

More of the usual finds.....

Found this one with an injury to the side of it's neck, obviously couldn't get a really close look at it but it was a fairly large wound.....not fresh either.

One last pic of one of the Black Widows.......sorry for the horrible pic, new camera will be coming eventually.

I could never get sick of these pics either. That tongue shot of the rattler is way-cool. I truly envy you. I'd be out there every day if I lived where you do. Of course, I'd be wearing kevlar waders. :grin01:

I like your garter and rattlesnake pictures they're cute, but that black widow yucky I don't like those found a brown widow in my garage once it was scary to see it in there, but i'm pretty sure we probably had brown recluses in there too, but never seen them.

I'll never get tired of your pictures they're great! :)

Awesome snake pics...
We don't get those kinds of fun things up here. Apparently there's a camp area that is a haven for the 'massassaga rattler' .... which I admitadely know little about. That and garter snakes are all I've ever heard of.

Spiders eh?
Black Widows eh?

I realized in the pet store the other day that I'd become 'that guy' .... the guy who buys a bag of frozen mice to feed to my snake, and then hit the local supermarket to buy copius ammounts of lettuce-like things for my iguana. I've become that 'reptile guy' ..... I don't think I could ever become a 'spider guy' or a 'scorpion guy' ... call me old fashioned. ;)

You're definitely fortunate where you live to have that much action, that's awesome, wow, those garters look huge unless it's how the pic was taken, how big would you estimate the garters to be,? Marsh..

Nice collection seen in nature !!
My dream is still to find a corn in the wild .
I'm a visitor of the Daytona show in August .
Is this a time I can spot corns in nature ?

You are lucky. The only thing I can find around my house are worms.

I agree. I do not think I could become the spider or scorpion guy.

Great pictures, but I agree with many others about the spiders! I hate that I have to walk by their display cases to get my frozen mice from the store. *Shudder*
