"Rubbery Tail" Hatchling Problem?

We have probably an odd question, we were looking at one of our new hatchlings and we noticed that his tail from his butt to the end seems to be "lifeless". He never seems to wrap it around anything, it just hangs like it's dead. He does have a large lump right at his butt like he has a big poop but he hasn't eaten anything yet...is the tail thing normal? Thanks

Could you try to post pictures? Is the lump maybe a blood clot or a kink?

How big was the last meal?
And how long since it last pooped?

He hasn't had a meal yet and he hasn't pooped since the 9th which is when we separated the babies into their own individual containers.

This evening we did soak him in luke warm water in case he was constipated and his rear end almost seemed to float if that helps at all

Wow! That does look quite bloated. I would have no idea what it is. I really hope it turns out to be alright for you guys though.

Well, we found out sadly what the problem was...it appears that the little guy was paralyzed the last third of his body and the bloating was from his bowels getting backed up and him not able to pass them...he's now in cornsnake heaven.

We've also noticed a couple of other snakes in from the same clutch that seem to have the similar "dead tail" but is not till the very end of their body.
