she ate the pinky i gave to her on thursday night decided to wait 5 days and not sure if the stress of her new home or what but i put her into her feeder tank and she didn't want anything to do with the pinky she was more worried about attacking me.
Need some help on this i feel like im doing things right but who knows maybe i didn't thaw the pinky right I put the pinky in warm water and then a little hotter water before putting it in with the snake and no luck.

Sometimes with new hatchlings you need to put with pinky in the feed container, put in a dark place and leave them alone until morning; no peeking. If her focus is on you and not the pinky, you need to go away for a while. After some time, she'll get used to you as an extention of her environment and will most likely take her meal right out of your hands, but for now, she thinks you're a big monster who wants her for dinner:eatsmiley .

Give her a few days before trying again. If you try to feed too often, it is stressful for a snake and can actually make the situation worse. If one of mine skips a meal, he has to wait until his next regularly scheduled feeding day.

Howdy,
I would agree with Danny with this topic.
I just want to add that the feeding containers i use are also "flatter" than most other containers,I agree with the focus being directed 100% to the food.
Good luck and let us know.

finally she is eating put that pink in her feeding tank and left her for a few and boom she's eating her second pink since i got her last monday. Whew was starting to worry I think putting her in a more secluded area has made her feel a bit better. Gotta love the learning curve with these animals. Maybe im getting a bit corn nuts hehe.

well don't get too worried just yet. Corns can go a long time with out food. One week is not a big deal even to a baby. I've got a baby butter I picked up last Saturday and it hasn't had food for two weeks now and is refusing to eat but is quite active. He's very small, only 9 inches long but explore his new home and is out and about a whole lot more than the blizzard I got at the same time who's had three meals now.
I have a question about over night lock up feeding. I've tried that once with no luck. would it be wise or stupid to try it with a live pinky? would all the crawling around stress the pour little guy too much or would it inspire him to eat?

What you can try doing next time you attempt a feeding is slicing open the head area to expose the brains. Another idea is to dangle the pinkie from it's tail with a pair of tweezers or something, just to catch it's attention.
How long are you thawing it for?

i thaw it for about 6 hours or till it looks ready then put it in warm water for a minute or so.
