In five years of owning him, I've never known Kieran to take his dinner butt first.... now, this evening, he's decided to try to down 54 grams of rat the wrong way.... sigh.... I hope it does down smooth.

It will be fine. I've had numerous ones take various sized animals backwards without a problem. It's just usually harder for them to get past the legs.

It did go down, but much slower. The hind legs were the problem. Took him twice as long as normal to finish it off. Thanks for the reassurances. :)

The little one always takes hers butt first and I've not been concerned, but pinkies are one size all the way down. A small rat has a lot more angles to it, which why I was concern and it was those hind legs that he had trouble getting around.

Just weird that in five years, he's never done that before :)
