Hey guys!! I just started getting into photographing herps a little better with my gf, and my grandpa gave me this 35mm camera a long time ago so I brought it and all of the different lenses out. Its an oldy but a goody. It's a Nikon Nikkormat and I've got 4 different lenses for it (close ups to telephotos). I'm just trying to learn how to use it a little better, and he didn't give me the manual with it so I'm just kind of pointing and shooting. If anybody has some suggestions for film type or camera settings please let me in on the secret, I'm really starting to enjoy this sort of stuff and if I get good enough I might take it on my trip to Costa Rica next summer.

I don't have any tips for shooting, but if you do decide to take it to Costa Rica, make sure you have some sort of dry box rigged up for your film. I don't mean to keep it out of the rain, I mean to keep the moisture from the air out of it. I always have such a difficult time with keeping electronics working when I'm in Costa Rica because of the humidity. I imagine real film would also suffer. Have fun shooting! Old cameras are nice, aren't they? I had one I loved, but the seals are dead and need to be replaced and it's a coupld hundred bucks. They're letting light in.
