Rattle snake!

Heres a strange one for you.

Me and my girlfriend were handling are corns(normal and ame)last night, when i noticed the strangest thing that Jane the Amel was doing.

She was shaking her tail very quickly as if she was a rattle snake or something, exept with out the noise.

Any ideas? :confused:

They do this as a defence mechanism. Sometimes you will even hear the vibrations (if the tail beats off of the side of the viv or something). It's very common in hatchlings and more timid snakes, the same as arching and rearing up. If your snake is quite young, about to shed or was startled by you then this would explain his tail rattling. HTH
