Hey guys,

I have a Black, 1 year old male Ratsnake (I know thats not a real cornsnake but this is the only good forum I know for posting these things) and I would like to build an open air cage for him.

The idea was to make a fenced area on grass so he would have a lot more space and fresh air to enjoy then now in my narrow, dark room in a small cage.

Is it possible to do that when I make sure there are enough hiding places, some heat spots, water, no escape possibilities or danger from cats or birds?!

Are there other things I think about, like health issues I've forgotten?

Please help me, I don't want to find my snake dead the other day, and my excuse for my bad english :)

Hmm... I think that would cause ALOT of problems than solving anything.

First problem would be escape, and I assure you that snake will find a way to escape.

Second, would be parasite load. Since this is an outside thing, there would be tons of parasites from the soil, from bugs, ticks, mites, etc. It would kill your snake.

Then comes maintaining proper temperatures (have no clue how you'd do that). And proper humidity, and what if it rains?

Do your snake a favor and keep him inside...
