Hello,

My 2 yr 4ft charcoal corn has not pooed for over two weeks. His eating is normal (one adult per week) and acting normal. Has anyone experienced this before? Can snakes become constipated?

Hi Izzy,
Could your baby be getting ready to shed? as sometimes this will delay defecation.
I've heard of people giving their corns a luke warm bath if they think they're constipated, but someone with more experience should be along soon who may have better ideas.

Thats so weird,,I was just going to start a thread like this one.
My snake has gone 10 days.Shes into a second feeding with out "going".
This not like her at all.Normally, every 5th or 6th day she goes.
Strange,,? uncommon ??

Hold her above your head or let her hang out on your best antique tablecloth. That oughta do it!:sidestep:

Sorry, couldn't resist. Can you tell if she's drinking water good?

My corn snake went 13 days without pooping before, and I was considering giving him a warm bath but it ended up I didn't have to. I had him out as he had to go in the car to a breeder to get probed and he went in the car on the way!! Being active for 5 minutes is sometimes enough. Anyway, I've stopped worrying about it because now he frequently goes for over 10 days without defacating!

He's not ready to shed, so I may try the warm bath. I could tell he is hungry but i am reluctant to feed him (third feeding) until he goes. Thanks to all for your suggestions.

HAndle him for about 30 minutes... he'll poop on ya. :D

If that doesn't work a bath couldn't hurt.

had the same issue with Shinzon afew weeks ago, just give it time, i can understand the worry because i was told to keep feeding on schedule and the back end of my guy looked so huge and not natural but eventually it happened.....and it was a relief minus being the attractiveness of poop

:shrugs: I just turned the light on in the tank,,NO POOOO
I am supposed to feed today,,but I don't think I will.This makes 14 days.
I took her out for a while on Friday,,for a little exercise. No luck.Is a bath called for ??,I know it always worked with our bearded dragons. What about the chlorine in the water ??.
I think I'll give her an extra long "work out" today.
Any ideas what causes this "back up" ?
