Tongue Flicking

I thought they were supposed to do that almost constantly, except maybe when they're resting? Just thought I'd ask, cause I thought it was kinda odd that during the whole 20 min that I handled my snake tonight, I never once saw him flick his tongue and he only remained still for about 3 minutes total. Anyone have any insight on this?

Nothing to worry about. There is no normal amount of time that a corn snake flicks its tongue.
One of my Amels I named "Lick" because after he's done eating, he tastes the spot where the mouse was placed:rofl:
I notice more tongue flicking when it get closer to feeding day.

I have noticed with my snakes that they flick a lot when they first come out, then drop to almost nothing. If something changes, like I take them outside, it starts up again. Until I get the camera. Try to get a snake to tongue flick when it doesn't feel like it sometime!

They only seem to flick if there is something that interests them smell-wise. Some do it more than others.

Ah okay, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a bad sign or something. Thanks everyone. :)
