Rib outline?

How is the rib outline supposed to be because In my cali king snake I see like a line, not rib shaped only a line parallel to his body

Sounds like a line of muscle to me, but it would be hard to say without pictures.

I think that's a muscle line. All my snakes have it. The ribs are a smooth semi-circle.
