YUK - Mites

Just found out that my new baby Boa has mites.
I did a search on the forum and found the Nix treatment. I plan on following that.
I have kept the Boa in a separate room from all my other snakes and Beardies.
I did a check of some of the corns tonight and didn't see any mites.

My question are:
1 - should I treat everyone as a precaution or just treat the Boa?

2 - can snake mites also infect my Beardies?

3 - can I use the Nix on my Beardies if they are infected?

I have used the Nix treatment with success. I don't know about beardies. Mites can and will travel and they can be transferred by you. If your other snakes don't have them yet they probably will. If you don't treat the others, you should certainly keep a close watch on them. I would also treat the area around the cages.

Glad to here from someone else who used this method. My poor Boa, Feather, was not too happy about being treated. He kept striking at the spray bottle.
Hopefully, I haven't spread the mites to my other herps. I have been very careful to handle the Boa last and alway wash my hands before and after handling my herps. I will be keeping a close eye on everyone else for infection.
