Hi Guys

I'm new here. Have found lots of good advice and info on this site so far. I am hoping somebody can help me in this matter. My Corn had it first shed in my care which wasn't very successful. Only bout 1/4 of it came free and tried lots of different methods but it took couple of days before i actually removed it completely. This all started about 3 weeks ago and my poor litlle baby has refused to eat for me. I am very concerned at this stage. Any advice???

How were you feeding the snake before the shed? Had he fed many times successfully for you? How many times and at what intervals has he refused? How long have you had the snake, and is it your first?

Hi Nanci,
I have had the snake for 7 weeks and i had no problems with feeding until the shed. I feed her in her viv. I have tried every 2 days to tempt her to no avail, I was feeding her on a 5 day cycle as she is only a baby and still on 1 pinkie per feed. I can understand her being out of sorts while the skin was on as it must have been quite distressing but we ahve nade 3 feed attepmts since and still nothing. She looks and moves her head as if to take it but then scuttles away. What do i do?

Ok, so I would wait five days from your last attempt. Get a feeding container ready for her- a small Gladware with air holes in it. On feeding day, feed her in the evening when it is starting to get dark. Get the pink really hot- 101-1-3F, cut about four slits in its back, put that in the feeding container, put the snake in, cover it with a dish towel or T-shirt and just leave her in there for an hour- no peeking. If she hasn't eaten it by then, I'd leave the whole thing in her viv overnight. If she hasn't eaten then, I'd try the same thing in four days.

One of the purposes of using a feeding container is that the snake can't wander off and forget about the pink. Covering it makes her not worry about trying to escape and keeps her from getting distracted by people walking by.
