Unusual Tail. Problem?

I have had my Corn Snake for little over a year now. She has been fine except for an unusual tail. Her body suddenly gets smaller at the tail and the scale pattern changes. I'm not sure if this is the just the way the this snake is, or if it is an injury. The tail hasn't seemed to grow with the rest of her body which makes the tail smaller and smaller and makes the sudden change more severe over time.

Whats going on? Here are some pics:

(This picture shows the sudden change in the scale pattern.)

Oh and, this snake is about 1.5 years old now and she looks a little on the small side! I feed her every 7 days "Small Mice". They are pretty decently sized and theres no reason why she would be small.
Is this snake small for her age?

Thanks for your help!

Tails tend to stay smaller then the rest of the body. You'll see it in most of the corn photos you look at. It's more noticeable in males.

To be honest size is something that differs so much between each snake it's hard to tell. As long as she/he feels strong and can move around in your hands with power in each move you are fine.

Hope that helped.

In those pictures the tail looks very normal. If there is an enlargement around the cloaca it could just be your snake needing a poop, or fatty deposits known as hips, more pics of various angles may help, but everything looks normal to me in your pics ;)

All the best
Tom

The sudden "change" in scale pattern that you see is where her vent, cloaca, is and where the tail begins. That's perfectly normal and is what it's supposed to look like. Her size and weight look pretty good too.
