homemade hides?

does anyone have a homemade clay recipe that i could yuse to make so hides and cage furniture for my corn? its too expensive to buy everything and i cant really find anything i like anyways.

I used a clay that can be baked at home from Laguna Clay (http://www.lagunaclay.com/clays/specialty/ovencraft.php). It worked great for me and it is much more affordable than Sculpey. Unfortunately the clay is porous and cannot hold water.
I'll post some pictures when I get home.
